I was at a wedding at Fair Park and this was in convenient walking distance from the Discovery Center. On this Saturday afternoon, there was no line and I was immediately assisted and was checking out in less than 30 seconds I got the chopped beef plate with green beans mashed potatoes and mild sauce. Everything was good. It was $18 for the plate. Would recommend if you are in the area. A little pricey which explains the four stars.
I used to frequent this restaurant when they were located in Oak Cliff years ago as well as my former employer used them to cater events often (the ribs, and beef were ). Imagine my delight when I discovered a location in south Dallas on Robert B Cullen Blvd ! Okay, I've been 5 times, and the slice beef sandwich w/the mild sauce is even better than remembered. It's tender, juicy, delicious. The restaurant feels like family and what I mean it's homie like grandmother's house the feeling you get when walking through the door, and it smells like down-home cooking. you find yourself skipping to the line and you see spaghetti, potatoes with thick brown gravy, cabbage greens, and oh my gosh oxtails, come on, OXTAILS that are fall off the bone tender Black Eyed Peas candid yams need I say more? You've gotta get there and extremely quick! Oh the people and the service are AWESOME!
